Getting Started: Things I wish I had around when I was beginning

I’ve recently had an interest in youth programs that teach cheerleading fundamentals. For cheerleaders just starting out, this is a great organization to join in order to learn the cheer basics and get some experience before trying out for school teams. I’ve known for a long time about popular youth leagues with structured cheer organizations, such as Pop Warner Youth Football. They have their own cheerleading nationals for peewee divisions, and a superbowl for the football teams!
I also recently discovered after-school programs that have Cheer & Dance classes. Here in Arizona, Young Champions of America provide cheer, hip hop and karate lessons. They even have beginning tumbling and stunting from certified coaches. Another low-cost training option that I’m less familiar with, but also based here in Arizona is the NRG Dance Co. programs. They also do after-school programming in elementary schools around the Phoenix Valley.
Plenty of options to get your little miss cheerleader ready for the Pros someday! (more than this Pro ever had, so they’ll be in fantastic shape!)
Cheers! *\O/* NN
